SEO Strategy

How to read this document

This is the organic search strategy for maxxim.ai, produced in the Deploy phase against Master Briefing v2.1, the Gate 1 decisions in Discover Addendum, and the 1 July refresh that folded in the 29 June product mechanics and the live Jewell partner site. It sits on and does not repeat Website Strategy, Marketing Plan, Brand Strategy, Customer Profile, and Competitor Analysis. It defines the organic-search objectives, the technical foundations on the live Astro and Cloudflare Pages stack, the keyword and topic targeting, the content architecture, the on-page rules, the link building approach, the competitor read, the AI-search and answer-engine adaptations, and the measurement framework. It is the plan the Deploy build and content teams execute from.

One frame governs the whole plan, carried straight from the Marketing Plan and the Gate 1 decisions. Organic search at Maxxim serves a two-layer funnel, and the partner is the front door now. The primary organic job is to be found and trusted by trusted operators deciding whether to put their name on this engine: partner-enablement, agency-in-a-box-alternative, and AI-marketing-platform intent. The end-client layer is universal across every organisation type and is served through partners today, with a self-serve portal as the north star second front door later. SEO is foundational and long-horizon: it is built now so the proof surface is discoverable as the brand matures and especially ahead of that later portal front door. No promise here is a thirty-day ranking claim; the realistic horizon is three to twelve months and beyond.

The site is no longer a black box. Since the 27 June version we know exactly what it runs on. maxxim.ai is a live Astro site hosted on Cloudflare Pages, the same delivery stack every Maxxim client site ships on, with images served from assets.maxxim.ai and the contact form embedded from apps.maxxim.ai. That changes the technical plan from guesswork to a precise set of levers, described in Section 2. The four Section 16 audit fixes from the live site (Jewell not Joule, Paul Clancy as Client Partner, Pottsville added to Work, the two-door model on For Partners) are carried into the Website Strategy by construction; this plan treats their organic and answer-engine consequences, because incorrect indexed and AI-cited copy is a trust liability for a lightly proven brand.

The same discipline as every upstream document applies. Maxxim's own category lead word is OPEN and is not invented here. Keyword targeting is built around descriptive, intent-true phrases and around Jewell's locked external lead word, growth, not around a category coinage Clent has not settled. Partner economics stay illustrative and unquoted. Proof respects clearance: Pottsville Acupuncture is the only cleared public Maxxim case study; OTR Earthmover is internal only, Hidrive is percentages only, and Jewell's own named results live under Jewell's banner and are never re-used as Maxxim's public proof, which directly constrains the case-study and link-building plan. Ownership is Clent and Raef only; Paul Clancy is a Client Partner, never a co-founder. Australian English throughout, no em dashes, no exclamation marks, the business is Jewell and never the corrupted form.

Where live keyword data is unavailable, search volumes and difficulty are stated as directional estimates for a small, emerging, mostly Australian B2B category, and the strategy names how to confirm them with live tools. These are planning bands, not measured figures, and are validated in the first technical and keyword pass.

1. SEO Objectives

Six objectives tied to the Marketing Plan objectives and the Website Strategy success metrics, each with measurable milestones at three, six, and twelve months. The realistic frame matters: a brand this young, with thin public proof and an unsettled category word, builds organic authority slowly. Early wins come from branded and long-tail intent and from answer-engine citation, not from contested head terms. The added sixth objective from the 27 June version makes AI-search visibility a first-class goal, because the partner and end-client audiences increasingly research through assistants.

ObjectiveLinks to3 months (by Sep 2026)6 months (by Dec 2026)12 months (by Jun 2027)
1. Technical foundation is clean and fast. The live Astro and Cloudflare Pages site is fully crawlable, indexed, and holds the Core Web Vitals targets the Website Strategy set. Website Strategy Sec 7 and 8; Marketing Plan Obj 5 (site fixes live before 3 July). Section 16 fixes live and re-crawled; all six priority pages plus Pottsville indexed; sitemap and robots correct; LCP under 2.5s, CLS under 0.1, INP under 200ms on mobile. Zero indexation errors; schema live on all priority pages; no broken links or redirect chains; trailing-slash convention enforced at the edge. Sustained green Core Web Vitals; technical health holds through every content addition and any Astro rebuild.
2. Own the branded and proof terms. Anyone searching Maxxim, Max, the 3D Process, or Pottsville finds the correct, current, cleared surface first, in classic search and in AI answers. Website Strategy Obj 5 (be correct and credible); Customer Profile (trust gap). Rank position 1 for "Maxxim" and "maxxim.ai"; Pottsville case indexed and ranking for its branded query. Page 1 for "Maxxim 3D Process", "Maxxim growth diagnostic", "Maxxim partner"; no stale or corrupted naming surfaces in search or AI answers. Branded SERP fully owned including accurate AI-overview citations for "what is Maxxim" and "what is Max".
3. Build partner-intent visibility. Earn organic reach for the operator-enablement, agency-in-a-box-alternative, and AI-marketing-platform searches the license-door audience runs. Marketing Plan Obj 2 (sign the founding cohort); primary persona Operator Owen. Three to five partner-intent long-tail terms indexed and tracked; For Partners page ranking for at least one. Page 1 or 2 for two to three partner-enablement long-tail terms (directional). Consistent first-page presence on the priority partner cluster; measurable organic partner enquiries.
4. Seed the end-client and growth terms. Establish a foundation on the "growth" and diagnostic intent so the proof surface is found, readying the later self-serve portal. Marketing Plan Obj 3 (Growth Diagnostic as repeatable first sale); Jewell lead word growth. Growth Diagnostic intent mapped to Start; one to two supporting articles published and indexed. Long-tail growth-diagnostic and "growth strategy for small business" terms ranking on page 2 to 3 (directional). A durable organic base on growth and method intent the portal can inherit.
5. Grow organic sessions and qualified enquiry. Move from a near-zero baseline to a measured, growing organic contribution to partner enquiries and Diagnostic bookings. Website Strategy Sec 9; Marketing Plan Obj 5 and measurement framework. Baseline established in GA4 or Cloudflare Web Analytics and Search Console (currently effectively unmeasured). Organic sessions trending up month on month; first organic-attributed partner enquiry or Diagnostic enquiry recorded. Organic a named, growing source in the funnel; referring-domain count up from a low base via earned links.
6. Be cited accurately by AI assistants. Earn accurate, favourable citation for Maxxim, the method, and the category explainer in AI overviews and assistant answers, and correct any inaccuracy at source. Marketing Plan (audience researches via assistants); Website Strategy Obj 5; Section 16 correctness. Entity facts consistent sitewide (one name, one ownership line, Max/Sal/Pip as features); baseline AI-answer checks run for core branded and category queries. Accurate assistant answers to "what is Maxxim" and "how does a gated marketing process work" that reflect the on-site facts; no corrupted-name or co-founder error surfaced. Maxxim cited as a named option in assistant answers about the trustworthy-middle category, with the on-site facts as the source of truth.

Authority note. Domain authority and referring-domain counts start from a low base for a domain of this age. The realistic twelve-month aim is steady accumulation of a small number of high-relevance, high-trust referring domains, not a headline authority score. Authority follows proof and PR, which are gated by clearance, so authority growth is deliberately paced against the proof workstream. The live Jewell partner strengthens the case that the model works, but Jewell's own domain authority and results are Jewell's, not Maxxim's, and are not counted here.

2. Technical SEO Audit Framework

Technical foundations come first because the best content cannot rank on a site that cannot be crawled, indexed, or loaded fast, and cannot be cited by an assistant that reads only the rendered HTML. We now know the stack precisely: Astro on Cloudflare Pages. That is a strong starting point, static-first output, edge delivery, fast time-to-first-byte, and JSON-LD and content rendered server-side so crawlers and AI systems see the facts without executing JavaScript. The framework below defines what to check and fix, prioritised by impact, not listed flat. P1 items block ranking, trust, or accurate citation and are done in the launch pass; P2 items materially help and are done within the first month; P3 items are refinements done as the site grows. One stack note governs everything: sites are locked (Astro) by default and can be unlocked to hand-editable HTML, which is a one-way door, so all technical SEO is planned and shipped inside the Astro build and the Cloudflare edge, never by unlocking.

PriorityAreaWhat to check and fixAstro / Cloudflare Pages note
P1 Naming and correctness (Section 16) Confirm no corrupted business name ("Joule") survives in any indexable text, title, meta, alt, or schema; ownership reads Clent and Raef only; Paul Clancy is Client Partner, not co-founder; Pottsville is live on Work. Incorrect indexed or AI-cited copy is a trust and ranking liability for a lightly proven brand and directly feeds Objective 6. Fix in the Astro source, rebuild, and redeploy through Cloudflare Pages so the corrected static output replaces the cached version; purge the Cloudflare cache after deploy so crawlers and assistants re-read the corrected HTML.
P1 Crawlability and indexation robots.txt allows the six priority pages and the Pottsville case, disallows any admin or staging path; an XML sitemap lists every canonical public URL and is referenced in robots.txt and submitted to Search Console; each page has a self-referencing canonical; no priority page carries an accidental noindex; legals are indexable but low priority. Confirm no free <slug>.maxxim.ai staging variant is indexable as a duplicate of the custom domain. Generate the sitemap at build time from the Astro route set so it never drifts from the live pages; serve robots and sitemap from the edge. If a staging slug exists on Cloudflare Pages, canonicalise or noindex it to the production domain.
P1 HTTPS and security Site is HTTPS-only with a valid certificate; HTTP redirects to HTTPS with a single 301; no mixed content (images from assets.maxxim.ai and the embedded apps.maxxim.ai form must load over HTTPS); HSTS set sensibly. WCAG 2.2 AA is treated as a procurement and trust requirement, not only an SEO one. Cloudflare provides TLS and the edge redirect; confirm Always Use HTTPS is on, the redirect is a single hop, and the assets and apps subdomains serve securely.
P1 Core Web Vitals Hit the Website Strategy targets on mobile: LCP under 2.5s, CLS under 0.1, INP under 200ms. Optimise the hero image (the usual LCP element), reserve space for the embedded contact form and media to prevent layout shift, and keep client-side script minimal so interaction stays responsive. Astro ships zero JS by default and Cloudflare serves from the edge, so the platform is in your favour; protect it by keeping islands of interactivity small, serving assets.maxxim.ai imagery responsively and compressed, and lazy-loading the apps.maxxim.ai form iframe so it does not block LCP.
P2 Site structure and URLs Keep the flat, lowercase, hyphenated paths the Website Strategy set: /how-it-works/, /work/, /for-partners/, /about/, /start/, /contact/, with /privacy/ and /terms/ in the footer. Pottsville at /work/pottsville-acupuncture/ if a dedicated case URL is wanted, otherwise a section of /work/. No deep nesting; a flat six-page site needs no complex hierarchy. Define routes explicitly with Astro's file-based routing; pick one trailing-slash convention and enforce it at the Cloudflare edge to avoid duplicate-URL splits.
P2 Mobile-friendliness Mobile-first, because the operator often first checks the site on a phone after a referral, seeing the live Jewell partner site, or the 3 July session. Hero promise and a single primary CTA visible without scrolling; tap targets sized; no horizontal scroll; readable Poppins hierarchy; the two-door block stacks with For Partners first. Test the static output at mobile breakpoints; edge-served static pages make mobile performance straightforward to hold.
P2 Schema markup Organization schema sitewide with correct ownership context (Clent and Raef; Jewell as method owner and endorsing brand); Service schema for the Growth Diagnostic and the partner offer; FAQPage on the For Partners and Start FAQs; CreativeWork or CaseStudy on the Pottsville case if published with consent. No schema referencing any uncleared client or Jewell's named results. Schema also feeds AI-answer accuracy (Objective 6). Inject JSON-LD at build time per Astro route so it is in the static HTML and visible to crawlers and assistants without client-side rendering.
P3 Redirects and links No redirect chains or loops; any changed legacy URL 301s once to its new home; no internal links to redirected or dead URLs; external links to cleared destinations only. Manage redirects as Cloudflare edge rules or the Pages redirects file; keep a single source-of-truth redirect map in the repo.
P3 Crawl efficiency and hygiene No thin or duplicate pages; no orphan pages off the internal-link graph; image filenames and alt text descriptive; favicon, Open Graph, and Twitter-card tags present for clean sharing and AI-surface previews. Reference the reversed wordmark variant only where contrast requires it; it is a variant, not a second identity. With six pages crawl budget is a non-issue; the discipline is keeping it clean as content is added in phase 2, and keeping OG images on assets.maxxim.ai.

How to obtain the data. Stand up Google Search Console and a live crawl (a crawler plus a Core Web Vitals field-data source, or Cloudflare Web Analytics for stack-native field data) in the launch pass. Until then, technical findings are based on the known Astro and Cloudflare Pages stack and the Website Strategy targets, and are confirmed against live measurement in the first monthly technical review. Re-run the crawl after every Astro rebuild, because a static regeneration can silently change output.

3. Keyword Strategy

Keywords are organised into topic clusters, not isolated terms, because topical authority beats single-keyword chasing, especially for an emerging brand. Every keyword is classified by search intent and carries a directional difficulty band. The guiding constraint is explicit: Maxxim's own category lead word is OPEN and is not invented, so the clusters are built from descriptive, intent-true language and from Jewell's locked lead word, growth. Volumes are directional for a small, mostly Australian B2B category; many high-value terms here are low-volume and high-intent, which suits a high-trust, founder-led, partner-led sale. The partner cluster is broadened in this version to name the two competitor-adjacent intents the operator actually types: agency-in-a-box alternatives and AI-marketing platforms with a human in the loop.

Keyword and topic-cluster map. Five clusters across the two intent layers, anchored to the hub pages they support. The category-word slot is shown OPEN and is filled descriptively until Clent settles it. The engine (Max, Sal, Pip) surfaces inside the method cluster as showable proof, never as separate products.

CATEGORY-WORD SLOT = OPEN. Not invented. When Clent settles Maxxim's
own lead word, it seeds a sixth cluster and joins titles and H1s.
Until then, targeting uses descriptive phrases + Jewell's word "growth".

Validation. Confirm these bands with a live keyword tool in the first pass, segmented to Australia. Expect several terms to return very low or no measured volume; that is normal and acceptable, because the partner sale is high-trust and low-volume and the value is in matching exact intent, not chasing head-term traffic. The branded "Max Sal Pip" terms are near-zero today and are targeted defensively so the correct explanation is what an assistant or searcher finds as the engine becomes known.

4. Content Strategy for SEO

The content model is hub and spoke: each priority page is a hub that owns a cluster, and a small number of supporting articles (spokes) deepen the cluster and link back to the hub. The defining constraint is clearance and capacity. The Website Strategy defers a blog or resources section to phase 2 and warns against an empty content shell on a lightly proven site, so the content plan is deliberately lean: strengthen the hubs first, add a tightly scoped set of spokes only as there is something true and cleared to say. The 29 June mechanics give the method hub real substance to show (Max does the words, Sal does the pixels, Pip runs the Social Studio, gates unlock as briefs exist and a logo is locked), which is exactly the extractable, citable content AI answers reward.

Content architecture, hub and spoke. The six priority pages are the hubs; a small, prioritised set of supporting articles are the spokes. Pottsville is the most-linked proof asset. The portal is a future hub, named not built.

Content gap analysis approach

Hub and spoke priorities

HubOwns clusterPriority spokes (in order)Cadence
For Partners1 (partner / white-label and agency-in-a-box alternative)1. "How to scale your agency without becoming an agency". 2. "Agency in a box versus a licensed method: what is the difference".Spoke 1 in the first content month; spoke 2 within the quarter.
How it works2 (the method, the 80/20, the named engine)1. "What a gated marketing process is and why the gate matters". 2. "AI plus a human: where AI runs the 80 percent and the person owns the 20, and who Max, Sal, and Pip are".One per fortnight, aligned to the Marketing Plan publishing rhythm.
Work3 (proof)1. The Pottsville Acupuncture case study (the anchor spoke). 2. The unnamed multi-year track record line. Nothing uncleared; Jewell's named results stay under Jewell's banner.Pottsville at launch; refreshed and extended only as more proof clears.
Start4 and 5 (growth diagnostic, ownership)1. "What the Growth Diagnostic is and what you get". 2. "Marketing assets you own outright". Later: an NFP and government procurement-fit piece.Spoke 1 near launch; the procurement piece deferred to the aperture phase.

Content brief requirements per cluster

Blog or resource centre decision. No standing resources section in phase 1, per the Website Strategy. The spokes above live as a small, curated set linked from their hubs, not as a dated blog feed that would look thin. A resources or insights section is a phase-2 candidate, opened only when cleared content and capacity exist. Where the work is production rather than judgement, Max drafts and a human signs off, which keeps the lean cadence sustainable for a two-owner operation.

5. On-Page Optimisation

On-page rules turn the keyword map and the brand voice into per-page execution. Internal linking is called out as the most underused lever on most sites and is treated as a first-class part of the plan here, because for a six-page site the internal-link graph is most of the SEO architecture.

6. Local SEO

Local SEO is largely not applicable to maxxim.ai itself, and this is a deliberate read, not an omission. Maxxim sells nationally and ultimately beyond, to a partner layer and through them to a universal end-client layer. It is not a local-service business chasing "near me" searches, has no physical storefront serving walk-in customers, and the one-named-partner-owns-each-relationship rule plus the small team make a Google Business Profile low-value and a citation-building programme a poor use of effort. There is no local pack to win for a commercialisation engine.

No local citation programme, no review-generation programme, and no locally-targeted landing pages are recommended for maxxim.ai in this strategy.

7. Link Building Strategy

Link building is the accelerant, not the foundation, and it is tightly bounded by clearance and by the brand's calm, no-hype posture. The Marketing Plan is explicit: links are earned through PR and cleared case studies, not bought, and the emphasis is earned over paid. The realistic aim is a small number of high-relevance, high-trust referring domains, accumulated steadily, not a volume play.

Target domain typeExamples (types, not named targets)Outreach approach
Australian business and marketing pressTrade and SME business publications, marketing and agency-industry outlets.Digital PR around the category story (the trustworthy middle) and the founding cohort, aligned to the PR plan. Pitch the founder as the named, accountable voice.
Operator and founder communitiesOperator newsletters, agency-owner communities, founder networks.Earned mentions and guest contributions from the founder, operator to operator, consistent with the LinkedIn-organic motion. No spammy guest-post farms.
Partner and ecosystem linksThe founding partners' own sites and profiles, including the live Jewell partner site; specialist partners; the cleared Pottsville client site.Natural, disclosed cross-links where a partner references the method (Jewell already presents Maxxim as its engine), and a link from the Pottsville client where consent allows. Relationship-based, not transactional. Jewell's named results stay under Jewell's banner.
Reference and category surfacesRelevant industry directories and credible category round-ups.Accurate listings with correct naming and ownership; only where the surface is genuinely relevant and reputable.

8. Competitor SEO Analysis

The competitive read is framed by intent, because Maxxim does not have a single head-on organic competitor. It sits between three competitor types, each strong on a different cluster, and the exploitable gap is the position none of them occupies in search. This is a directional analysis from the known competitive set in the Brand Strategy and Competitor Analysis; confirm specifics with live backlink and keyword tools in the first pass.

Competitor typeOrganic strengthAuthority (dir.)Terms they hold that Maxxim does notThe exploitable gap
Full-service and growth agencies (AU) Established domains; strong on "marketing agency" and service and location terms; real case studies and client logos. Medium to highHead service terms, local agency terms, broad "growth marketing" terms. They have the human but not the speed, and they read as slow, expensive, and opaque. They do not own "AI plus human sign-off" or "owned outcomes". Maxxim takes the accountable-and-fast language they cannot credibly claim.
White-label and agency-in-a-box platforms Strong on "white-label marketing", "agency in a box", reseller and SaaS terms; high-volume product content. HighWhite-label and reseller head terms, platform and tooling terms. They have reach and tooling but no method and no accountable human. They do not own "license a proven method" or "gated, human-signed". Maxxim takes the method-and-accountability language and the agency-in-a-box-versus-licensed-method distinction they will not write against themselves.
AI marketing tools and site builders Very strong on "AI website builder", "AI marketing", high-volume AI-feature terms; fast-growing content. HighAI-tool and AI-website head terms, feature and template terms. They have speed but no one to stand behind the output, the exact trust gap. They cannot credibly own "accountable", "a human signs every gate", or "agency-grade you own". Maxxim takes the trust-gap-closed and human-in-the-loop language.

Specific, exploitable gaps

Backlink profile comparison

Competitors hold larger, older backlink profiles with more referring-domain diversity; Maxxim starts low. The realistic response is not to match volume but to win relevance and trust: a handful of links from Australian business press, operator communities, partners (the live Jewell partner among them), and the Pottsville client are worth more to this brand than a large low-quality profile. Referring-domain diversity grows with the PR and cohort workstreams, paced by clearance.

9. AI Search and SGE Considerations

AI overviews and AI assistants are reshaping how the partner and end-client audiences research, and zero-click answers change what organic visibility means. The Marketing Plan is explicit that operators research through assistants and trust a demonstration over a deck, so being cited accurately in an AI answer to "what is Maxxim", "what is Max", or "how does a gated marketing process work" can matter as much as a classic ranking. This is Objective 6. The strategy adapts content to earn those citations while staying inside every guardrail.
